Quantity of Water in Circular tank
The quantity of water calculation in a circular tank is very easy and simple just need your little concentration. For your better understanding lets solve this example.
Example:
Suppose we have a circular water thank having a diameter of 3.5 feet and the depth of the circular water tank is 12 feet. Calculate the quantity of water that will store in this tank?
Given Data:
Length = 12 feet
diameter of tank (D) = 3.5 feet
water quantity = ?
Solution:
volume of tank
= 3.14 D2 / 4 x length
= 3.14 (3.52) /4 x 12
= 0.785 x 12.25 x 12
= 115.395 cft
In Liters:
(1 cft = 28.7 liters)
= 115.395 x 28.7
= 3311.83 liters
In Gallons:
(1 US Gallon = 3.785 liters)(1 UK Gallon = 4.55 liters)
To convert it into gallons
= 3311.83 / 3.785
= 875 Gallons of water
