White cement

White cement

White portland cement has essentially the same properties as gray ordinary portland cement, except for color. White cement readily available throughout North America.

The color of white cement is determined by its manufacturing processing and raw materials. influence the whiteness, undertone of the material, Metal oxides, primarily iron and manganese.

white cement

white cement produces clean, bright colors, After adding pigments, especially for light pastels. Many different colors of concrete can be created, two or more pigments can be combined to achieve a wide range of colors, and just like with paint. An even greater variety of decorative looks can be achieved by using varying the surface texture or finish treatment and colored aggregates.

Mix designs for colored or white concrete are formulated based on each ingredient’s effect on concrete color:

  • dosage of admixtures and Type
  • gradation, color, Type, and cleanliness of fine and coarse aggregates
  • color of cement and Type
  • dosage of pigment andType
  • especially maintaining a uniform water-cement ratio, Consistent proportions.

Once a mix design has been developed, For every architectural project, sample panels should be built at the job site. These mockups serve as references for overall surface appearance and color. In North America, aggregates are abundant throughout the country, white cement is widely available. In the end, white cement concrete can be there, no matter where you need it.

Specifying White Cement

A key advantage of using white cement for architectural and decorative concrete is that it provides consistent color results and a neutral tinting base. Every color option is possible with white cement, from pure whites to pastel and bright colors. White cement is available in North America, though you won’t find a separate specification for white cement. It can be specified via a number of different standards—masonry cement, portland cement, and plaster cement. White cement conforms to the  ASTM C 150 and Specification.

Concrete and All Other (General) Uses

ASTM C 150

Portland cement is the most common cement specification in North America.it is five basic types of cement covered under this spec, Types I and III white cement are the most prevalent, Types I through V, but Types II and V are also manufactured.  Manufacturers usually control the color of white cement by limiting the number of manganese oxides and iron allowed.

white cement

ASTM C 595

The blended cement includes other slag materials or pozzolanic in the cement.no reason why white cement could not be produced under C 595 degree. However, by-product ingredients like slags or pozzolans may not be color controlled to the same degree as Portland cement.

ASTM C 1157

The hydraulic cement is based on the characteristics performance. The 6 types of cement described by this standard are closely correlated to the types of cement in C 150. In fact, cements simultaneously meet C 1157 before cement meets C 150.

CSA A 3001

The(CSA-A) Canadian Standards Association standard for Cementitious Materials for Use in Concrete. The ordinary Portland cement nomenclature is the same as C 1157. white cement could be specified under the portland cement designation, As with the ASTM specifications, but would not likely be specified under the blended cement specifications.

Masonry Mortar and Stucco

Other cement developed specifically for special construction uses.

ASTM C 91

masonry cement is used to make both plaster (stucco) and mortar. C 91 has Types S, M, and N. Many companies ship these cement materials in bagged, colored mixes to maintain the open end-user the time and trouble of blending materials on the job.

C 1328

stucco or Plastic cement is used for stucco applications but this material is found primarily in the western and southwest portions of the United States. C 1328 has Types M and S.

ASTM C 1329

ASTM-C 1329 mortar cement is a sister product to C 91.Cement types are the same as in C 91 in use S, N, and M.

CSA A 3002

CSA-A also the Canadian Standards Association standard for Mortar Cement and Masonry. The same to C 1329 and ASTM C 91.
